PITCH
It is the story of Esther, a want-to-be author, who is trying to free herself from the hold of her mother and who decides to reinvent her life.
SYNOPSIS
Esther is a want-to-be author, trying to get her first novel published. She is about to get married to David, a young doctor.
She feels quite uncomfortable between her mom harassing her with the wedding preparation, her sister urging her to think twice before, her fiancé who falls for her best friend and a clairvoyant who tells her she will meet another man pretty soon.
When she runs into Adam, a childhood friend, something clicks in her. She decides to reinvent her life. It is now time for her to make a real choice…
REVIEWS
“By choosing to shoot long takes with a mobile camera, Crystel Amsalem makes her characters face their own demons as much as she brings to light the actors, both true and spontaneous.”
Ludivine Le Goff – COMME AU CINEMA
"…And it is not without a visible and rather elegant pleasure that the author of this first film (Crystel Amsalem), enjoys filming her actors, and the feeling is mutual.”
Max Robin – AVOIR A LIRE
"The director, Crystel Amsalem can be proud of how she beautifully directed her actors. Alexandre Brasseur even won the award for best performance at the Paris Film Festival.”
Houria Hocini - EXCESSIF
“With a small budget, Crystel Amsalem nevertheless succeeds in directing an excellent comedy of manners where malice and emotion blend, painting a glowing, funny, and touching amily picture, that challenges Woody Allen’s genre”.
