Crystel AMSALEM Writer Director Actress
After earning a degree from the Sorbonne Film School in Paris, attending acting classes with John Strasberg, Jack Waltzer and Susan Batson (from the Actor's Studio), Crys AMS aka Crystel Amsalem made her initial steps in the film industry at the University of California, Santa Barbara (U.C.S.B), where she attended writing/directing classes, acting and dancing classes, and directed her first short film “Another Girl”.
Afterward, she worked as an actress on several French and English language fictions for television (Highlander), and feature films (Neuf Mois, Coup de Vice).
She soon moved on to writing, producing and directing short films as “Rebecca” (10’), “Rien à Cacher” (6’) and “Seul Max le Fait”, a music video shot in New York.
Crystel Amsalem’s first feature film, “QUAND LES ANGES S’EN MÊLENT…” (“WHEN ANGELS INTERFERE…”) won the AWARD FOR BEST ACTOR (Alexandre Brasseur) at the PARIS FILM FESTIVAL. The film was also nominated in several festivals in New York, Boston, Melbourne, Palm Beach, Washington...
She also gives acting workshops at "Acting International", an acting school based in Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles.
She is actually in pre-production on her second feature film "RAF & IRIS", a female-driven film set in the Street Art world.
Après avoir obtenu une licence de Cinéma à la Sorbonne, suivi des cours avec John Strasberg, Jack Waltzer & Susan Batson, de l'Actors Studio, Crystel Amsalem fait ses premiers pas à U.C.S.B, université américaine où elle suit des cours de réalisation, théâtre & danse et réalise son premier court-métrage "Another girl".
Elle travaille ensuite comme comédienne sur plusieurs courtsmétrages, téléfilms et longs métrages dont "Coup de vice" de Patrick Lévy.
Puis elle produit et réalise Les copines (12'), Rébecca (10') - sélectionné aux festivals de Pantin et de Palm Springs (Californie), Rien à cacher (6') et Seul Max le fait, videoclip filmé dans les rues de New York.
Crystel Amsalem réalise ensuite son premier long métrage "QUAND LES ANGES S'EN MELENT", Avec Laurence CÔTE, Alexandre BRASSEUR, Alysson PARADIS... Le film est sélectionné dans de nombreux festivals (Cabourg, La Réunion, New York, Boston, Melbourne, Palm Beach, Washington) et remporte le prix d'interprétation masculine pour Alexandre Brasseur au Festival de film de Paris.
Elle anime également des stages de direction d'acteur à "Acting International", une école de théâtre et cinéma basée à Paris, Londres, New York et Los Angeles.
Elle est actuellement en pré-production de son prochain long métrage : « RAF & IRIS », une comédie dramatique située dans le monde du Street Art.
